Kaya and her Gymnastics

Kaya finished her 3rd year of Gymnastics. she absolutely loves it and continues to get stronger and being able to do more tricks.
The recital was so fun to watch and see how much she has grown. Both sets of her grandparents were able to be there to watch her and also her Unc. We love all of the support our family gives us.

A couple days after the recital she participated in a little studio competition. They put the girls in groups with girls their same level. She ended up coming in 2nd out of 10 girls in her group. She loves being able to perform and show off what she can do. Way to go Kaya!!!

Kaya's Spring Piano Recitals

Kaya had two piano recitals this Spring. One was at a church where they played religious music. She first played and sang "Love One Another". She is so brave and did so well. Then she played a duet with her Grandma Newman of "Do as I'm Doing".

The second recital was held at Riverton Music Hall. There she played and sang a song called "The Square Dance". Then at the end all of the students got up together and sang the Hannah Montana song "The Climb". They were so cute and so fun to watch. She continues to amaze us with her talents. We love you Kaya!!!

Easter 2010

The kids had a fun Easter this year. Except for the fact that it was still pretty cool and we had rain to deal with for the Easter egg hunts.

They loved being able to color their eggs. They get more creative every year. We should have taken better pictures of their finished product because they were great.

The Saturday before Easter we had the Jolley Family picnic and easter egg hunt. The sun came out and dried out things just enough so we could have it outside. The kids loved it and got lots of fun prizes.

Easter morning they loved getting their easter baskets from the easter bunny.

They each got a new zhu zhu pet and a new movie. Plus other treats and outside toys.

Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Newman's for Easter Dinner and they had another egg hunt in the house since it was raining outside. They definitely cleaned up on candy and other treats. What a fun holiday!!

Happy 7th Birthday Kaya!!

I'm little late on this post but oh well.

On Feb. 26th it was Kaya's 7th birthday. I can't believe she is already 7 years old.

Here she is when she was 3 months old.

And here she is today. All grown up.

Her birthday fell on a friday so we were able to have her little friend party on her birthday.

She wanted to have a pajama party. So that's what we had.

Her friends all showed up in their pjs and had so much fun.
They decorated pillowcases which ended up being way messier than I anticipated but they had a good time. Then they played some sleeping bag games and then we ended the night with them in their sleeping bags and watching a movie. All the friends went home and Kaya's cute cousins were able to sleepover.

They were all such cute girls and kept us all entertained.
It is so fun to watch Kaya grow and develop her talents. She loves gymnastics and is getting so good at it. She also is so great playing the piano and is learning so fast. She absolutely loves school and loves to read. It is so fun to meet with her teacher and have her brag about our daughter. We love you Kaya and can't wait to see what you can accomplish this year!!!
Happy Birthday!!

Happy 5th Brithday Tanner!!!

Feb 7, 2005 our little Tanner bug was born.
Now he's our big 5 year old.
I can't believe it.

We had a fun time celebrating for Tanner this year. We decided since he was turning 5 he could have a big party. So we went to Bouncin' Off the Walls and had a great time. He chose this great Cars cake to have at the party.

The kids all had such a great time sliding down the big slides and bouncing in the big bouncers.

The boys really liked the air hockey table too. I think some of them stayed there the whole time.

Then after the games Tanner was able to enjoy his cake and ice cream with his little friends and cousins. It was such a great party!! I think mostly because I wasn't the one having to do all the cleaning up.

The week after his birthday, Tanner was the VIP at preschool. It was fun to go and watch him be able to tell his class some things about himself.
Happy Birthday Tanner!!
WE sure love you and are so glad you are part of our family!!!

California and Disneyland Trip

Our trip to California was so awesome. Our resort was so great!! This was the view from the deck of our condo. Nothing but trees and ocean. So beautiful.
The amentities there were so nice. The pools were awesome and the kids loved playing for hours . The hot tubs were pretty great too!

Out by the pool area they had a big game area with a giant checker board and pool tables. The kids went crazy over the checkerboard and we had to put in a couple of games there. It was just so beautiful we couldn't help but just have a good time.

Disneyland was a huge success!! The kids had so much fun and were such great ages to really enjoy it.
They loved meeting all the characters and going on all the rides.

The teacups are always a big hit. Tanner was tall enough to go on everything but Indiana Jones and he was so not afraid. He went on everything with no hesitation. He was so excited. It was so great. Kaya was a little hesitant on some of the bigger rides because she had some memory of the last time we went that they were scary. She did most of them though. Dave even took both Kaya and Tanner on Tower of Terror. They weren't so sure about that one when they got off. Tanner said his feet flew up so high when they dropped that they almost kicked him in the face. Too much fun!!

Cole's highlight was definitely meeting Woody. Soooo Cute!! He was a big fan of the Buzz Lightyear ride too and I think we rode it about 10 times throughout the week. The new Toy Story ride was also a big hit but a much longer line so we were only able to ride it once.

Of course we had to get them all new Mickey/Minnie ears. Here they are getting ready to watch the cute parade. They were able to go out on the street with the characters and dance during the parade. They loved it.

Kaya enjoying her giant Mickey Mouse pretzel.
We were definitely sad to see our days at Disneyland end. We had a great time!!!

We were able to get in a day at the beach for just a little bit. It was definitely too cold to be in the water but the kids enjoyed being able to build in the sand. It was the week after their huge storms so the beach was covered in seashells that had been washed up so they had fun gathering those up too.
It was such a great trip and the kids did such a good job travelling.
Can't wait until next time!!!

Christmas Day 2009

Looks like Santa Came!!!

The morning for us started at 4 a.m. when Kaya came into our room to tell us that she threw up in her bed. The poor girl was so sick. She then spent the next few hours throwing up every twenty or so minutes. The boys were sound asleep until Cole woke up around 8 and finally at 9:00 we decided we would wake up Tanner so we could get Christmas morning started.

The kids had a great time looking and playing with what Santa brought them and looking in their stockings. You can see poor little Kaya only had so much energy. She was such a good sport. She would be so happy and excited one minute and the next she would quietly disappear to the bathroom. It broke my heart.

Santa brought me a new big giant griddle so while the kids were playing with what Santa brought them I made breakfast on my new toy. It was so nice to be able to cook so many slices of French Toast at once. Thank you Santa!!

After breakfast, we then moved to the family room where the tree was and opened up our gifts to each other. The kids definitely got way too much as always but they had a great time. I think that I was especially spoiled this year with all that the kids and Dave gave me.

Dave and the kiddos with some of the stuff that they gave to him. They were so cute and loved giving the gifts that they had picked out for each other and for us.

After all the other gifts were opened we pulled out a last surprise gift from Dave and I. It was a countdown calendar for a trip to Disneyland in 4 weeks. We gave them Disney Characters with blankets as well. They were so excited and instantly took the Christmas advent calendar down to replace it with the Disney countdown calendar. That was so much fun to give them. What a great morning despite the bad sickness Kaya was experiencing.
That afternoon we went over to Unc and Auntie M's for Christmas Dinner. Kaya had been feeling better and they all wanted us to still go so we went reluctantly. We had a great dinner and exchanged more gifts with Dave's family. Just as we were finishing up with the gifts I got struck almost instantly with the bug that Kaya had. So we packed up and got out of there as fast as we could. Not a great way to finish off the day but we still had a great Christmas!!!

Newman Christmas Eve Party

We had a great time on Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Newmans. The kids got more new jammies this time from Grandma Newman. We ate some good food and enjoyed each others company.
All of the grandkids with their new jammies.
The kids and some adults helped act out the Nativity while it was being read.

Kaya then played Christmas carols while we all sang. The adults had a fun time with a little white elephant gift exchange while the kids colored in some new coloring books from Grandma. It was such a fun start to our Christmas.

Jolley Family Christmas Party

The Jolley Christmas Party was a huge success this year. Almost everyone was able to be there except for the kids sick cousin Kort and his dad Mark. We were sad they couldn't be there. My parents poor house can barely fit all of us now. There had to be close to 50 people and we were jammed in there. It's a great way to make everyone mingle and get to know each other.
This year Ridge and Brenner were spotlighted. We spotlight a different grandkid each year to just learn a little more about them. It's been a very fun tradition. They both play the guitar so they played for us. Brenner's a definite rocker and Ridge more on the country side. They are such great kids. All the little kids had a great time dancing and wrestling to the music.

As always Santa made his appearance. The kids get so excited for him to show up. He brings them each a treat and they get to tell them what they want. We've done this instead of the mall Santa the last couple of years. Tanner asked Santa for a Trio Castle Set.

Cole asked for a choo choo train and table. Kaya asked for an artist easel.

My mom is so good to get all the grandkids and great-grandkids jammies each year. She's got to be buying over 20 pairs now. I don't know how she does it. We love it though and hope she keeps it up. The kids also draw names between each other and exchange gifts. It's always such a fun time to get together because it's about the only time we get everyone there now that we are so big.
